Manchester is one of the largest student cities in Europe, and the University of Manchester is the biggest single-site university in the United Kingdom by enrolment. A very large share of the young Muslim population in the city at any given moment is there for three or four years, from families living somewhere else entirely — Bradford, Birmingham, Leicester, London, or overseas.
