Shirin's favourite thing about life, she says, is realising that nobody actually knows what they are doing. It sets the tone for a page that is noticeably unpretentious about itself. She is building her businesses and chasing her own goals, trying to construct a life that manages to be exciting and peaceful at the same time. She is careful to say she has not mastered it — Bismillah, she is working on it — and balance is the thing she is actually after. What she admires in other people is staying kind while chasing success, on the grounds that the world already has enough people pretending to be something they are not.
